Always, always short staffed so days off are very rare and sudden, and you’re sent wherever coverage is needed even if you’re not a rover. Scheduled for an 8 hour shift? Great! But then your relief doesn’t show, so your 8 suddenly became a 16, you can’t get a hold of your boss, and leaving the post is a terminable offense. So if you diet, you’ll def lose the weight.ĭo I recommend the job? No. I don’t eat “horribly” but I’m also not in a diet. I’ve lost 60 lbs on this job but there’s another guy that’s maintained his weight because he eats horribly. ![]() Obviously a risk on your bodily health as far as possibly hurting your back or wrists but you’ll most likely lose the weight (if you don’t continue to eat junk food for every meal). But at least you really don’t have any stress about losing your job (unless you crash the vehicle or hit someone). They could tell you to go to a different office that morning before you’re scheduled to come in. They could call you in at 7:30 when the schedule says 9. But until you become that, you’ll be doing lots and lots of different routes and parcel runs. After 4 years (maybe less) you become a “Regular” and get to have your own route that you’ll do every day. The way the system works is that after 2 years, you get access to their health care plan and other benefits. My office is usually around 8-10 hours on average but I know some other offices have people on average work about 12 hours a day. It’s gonna have you working anywhere from 8-12 hours a day, sometimes 13-15 depending on the office you’re at. So there’s no consistency and you can’t make future plans. It’s gonna be on a random day of the week and probably change every week and the schedule can change every day. You’re gonna have to work 6-10 days in a row before getting your day off. Ok, so I very much hate this job so let me give you the run down □
